It contains specially selected strains of Bacillus bacteria that support soil health, improve plant condition, and reduce the occurrence of harmful pathogens such as Plasmodiophora brassicae — the causal agent of clubroot in brassicas—and other diseases affecting rapeseed (e.g., Sclerotinia). The microorganisms colonize the root system, rhizosphere, and plant stems, where they secrete metabolites that antagonize pathogens and enhance nutrient uptake from the soil. Rape Protect is an advanced microbial fertilizer product developed specifically for rapeseed and other Brassicaceae crops. Its effectiveness is based on specialized Bacillus bacteria that naturally colonize the roots and surrounding soil. Through competitive behavior and the production of antagonistic metabolites, the microorganisms effectively inhibit the development of soil-borne pathogens—particularly Plasmodiophora brassicae, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, one of the most destructive diseases in rapeseed (canola) cultivation.

The bacteria do more than just provide phytosanitary protection—they actively contribute to the decomposition of organic matter and post-harvest residues, thereby reducing the pool of infectious spores in the soil. At the same time, they improve soil structure and microbial activity. By biologically mobilizing nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), zinc (Zn), iron (Fe), and silicon (Si), the product supports healthy plant development and physiology.

The bacteria in Rape Protect also stimulate the plants’ internal defense mechanisms by activating systemic acquired resistance (SAR), enhancing the plants' readiness to handle environmental stresses and disease pressure. Regular use of Rape Protect in a biological protection program for rapeseed improves plant vigor, promotes uniform crop development, and increases yield potential.
